Accella Supports New Community Facilities – Trojan Park Playground and Donation of Playground Surface Materials

St. Louis, MO – October 5, 2016 – Accella Polyurethane Systems is proud to be a participant in the development of the brand-new Trojan Park Playground, located in Wellston, MO. The former vacant lot is undergoing a complete transformation into a state-of-the-art playground, using an all pour-in-place safety binder thanks to the efforts of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), Great Rivers Greenway, and their contributors. Through the Parks Build Community initiative, the NRPA selects a location to restore a park in the host city of its annual conference. This year, the NRPA decided to take on a new challenge for the first time – creating a park from scratch. The NRPA’s 2016 convention is being held in St. Louis, and the suburb of Wellston was chosen as a prime location to create a revitalized gathering place for youth, families, and adults. Accella, a St. Louis-based company, saw this as the perfect opportunity to donate its Tru-Motion™ product, which forms a safe playground surface using its polyurethane binder and EPDM rubber. “Accella provided the matched system of binder and rubber products to maximize the performance and safety of its ground surface products. When we heard that the NRPA was developing a park in our own city, we jumped at the chance to donate our materials. We wanted to do our part to help develop a vibrant space that creates a greater sense of community in the area,” said Al Restaino, Vice President of Marketing at Accella. Accella’s Tru-Motion products provide an eco-friendly, highly durable, visually appealing ground surface that covers the entire span of the playground’s flooring. Most importantly, they create a “Safer Surface” for the children who are using the state-of-the-art playground equipment. Accella chemists were on-site daily to oversee the installation of the base (aromatic) and top (aliphatic) coats. In a short time, installers were able to cover the 1 acre-sized park with the rubberized material. All parties involved with the construction of Trojan Park are eagerly awaiting its unveiling and opening celebration on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10 a.m. About Accella Accella shapes ideas that enhance our lives through improved comfort, safety, sustainability and performance.  Accella is a leading manufacturer of custom formulated polyurethane systems and recycled rubber products formed from the strategic combination of Dash Multi-Corp, MarChem, Arnco, Pathway Polymers, Ultimate Systems, RB Rubber, IPS Polymer Systems, Zeus, Premium Spray Products, Coating & Foam Solutions, Burtin Polymer Labs and Quadrant Spray Foam.
